Board as the Employer

Your board has important responsibilities for ensuring staff are supported, treated fairly, and work in a safe environment.

Although the principal manages staff on a day-to-day basis, your board is accountable for meeting employment obligations.

This includes complying with employment law and demonstrating good employer behaviours, including acting in good faith, following the principles of natural justice, and supporting an equitable and inclusive workplace

Good employment practices help create a positive environment for staff and contribute to better outcomes for students.
