Healthy School Lunches programme
The following resources are suitable for offering employment to those who are employed directly by the school board as part of the Healthy School Lunches programmeopen_in_new in 2026.
The programme is administered by the Ministry of Education.
Please note that as part of the settlement of the 2025-2027 School Caretakers’, Cleaners’ and Canteen Staff Collective Agreementopen_in_new (SCCCSCA), employees in school lunch programmes are now covered by the SCCCSCA. This means that school lunch programme employees are now offered the SCCCSCA (if they are, or become, a member of E tū) or the promulgated individual employment agreement based on the SCCCSCA.
These letters should be used after reading, and applying guidance in the articles on Safety checking and police vetting and Decision Making and Offering Employment, which detail the appropriate steps to take as you use these resources.
Note: These documents are not for the appointment of those doing work in school tuck shops or canteens. They should be appointed using the Canteen Staff letter of offer.
